The New Year kicks off with a bang as Business School Netherlands looks forward to welcoming the first international group of students – N 73 – to Buren next week.

bsn-buren windmill 400Travelling to the Netherlands may be new to some, but not to these International MBA students who will be visiting the Netherlands for their second international conference, as they aim to finish their personal as well as professional goals of completing their MBA degree. Many of whom would not have been able to achieve their MBA dreams had they not been a recipient of the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) fellowship, an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Marcel van der Ham, International Director of Business School Netherlands commented, “BSN looks forward to becoming an international student hub once again, opening its doors to students coming from South Africa, Pakistan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Zambia and Bolivia. Even though January is still our winter month and temperatures can vary between -10C and +10C, the Netherlands is still very beautiful, and as students begin arriving on Sunday they will feel this.”

Juanita Bouwer, Head of English Programmes commented, “As the Action Learning business school our faculty not only has the academic qualifications, but also the extensive industry knowledge needed by top international faculty in this day and age. During workshops the students can look forward to small group interactive discussions and experiencing diverse international culture relating to business. Students can expect a familiar face as Prof. Bernie van Zijl will deliver the first workshops focussed on Research Methodology and Information Management followed by Dr Matthew Hind who will focus on Human Resource Management.”

Dr Hind, a practising HR enthusiast has worked in everything from Recruitment and Selection, Organisational Development, Remuneration and Employee and Industrial Relations. Next, is Tjalling Palmbergen, the leading Financial Management tutor for the Dutch association of advertising agencies and head Financial Management tutor of the MBA programme at Business School Netherlands. With the final workshop focussing on International Management by Prof. Brian Bebbington, a well published and widely known academic on African management issues as well as guest lecturer on MBA programmes for many educational, business and governmental companies in Southern Africa.
